Vivian One Of First Signatories Of The Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter
A workplace where all employees are and feel valued, respected and integrated, a commitment to diversity and inclusion through the support of community initiatives and programs, the support for employees from under-represented groups with mentors and sponsors to advance in their careers, and ensuring equal opportunities in recruitment, career development, and promotions are some of the commitments being endorsed by healthcare company Vivian as one of the first signatories to the Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter.
The Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter is being promoted by the Corporate Citizenship For Responsible Enterprises (CORE) Platform. As of recently, CORE Platform will be officially representing Malta on the European Platform of Diversity & Inclusion Charters.
“Vivian’s mission as a healthcare company to ensure access to the right medical treatment to everyone stems from our belief that society needs to be more inclusive and equitable. We have endorsed the Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter because this is perfectly aligned to our mission,” said Joanna Gatt, Director at Vivian.
“We are also very proud to be one of the first signatories of this initiative and truly hope more companies will follow suit ” she added.
The Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter is based on seven primary principles namely the Respect and Dignity of all employees, ensuring Equal Opportunities, Non-Discrimination, the promotion of Inclusive Practices and Diversity, Education and Awareness about diversity and inclusion, Collaboration for the promotion of social cohesion and understanding and Accountability for our actions and decisions to create a more inclusive Malta.
Thanking Vivian for its endorsement as a signatory to the Charter, Helga Ellul, President of the CORE Platform noted that by being one of the first entities to sign and endorse the Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter, Vivian is demonstrating an admirable commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion.
“This commitment is inspiring, and we hope that this will continue to help encourage other companies to follow suit,” said Helga Ellul.
Vivian will embed all the principles outlined in this Charter across all its business practices and decision-making processes and will assign dedicated employees to oversee the implementation of this Charter within the company.
“We will also establish mechanisms to monitor our progress in our diversity and inclusion goals. Moreover, this Charter will be reviewed annually to ensure we remain relevant and effective in our diversity and inclusion efforts,” concluded Joanna Gatt.
